The Postman of Nowhere Atoll

Caught up in the pre-war draft of 1941, Henry Fischer finds himself stationed at a series of remote atolls in the South Pacific. A lowly yeoman, he often receives and distributes the mail that the crew await so eagerly. He also serves as Shore Patrol, Seabee, firefighter at General Quarters, Tommy gunner and assistant gunner. He will go through Pearl Harbor, and other battles that never got names. This is his chronicle of the ordinary days of ordinary men in extraordinary times.
