Description
This collection of short stories follows on from the end of The Adventure of the Colonial Boy, set in 1893. Sherlock reveals he's still alive after his apparent death at Reichenbach Falls when he summons a grieving John Watson to Australia to complete his mission to destroy Moriarty's network. John is angry, but so is Sherlock, for many reasons. Over the weeks of the case, they find a way to resolve the barriers between them and finally admit to their love - but they have to defeat Sebastian Moran before they can return safely home to England.
The first story in this collection, "The Swordmaster's Secret", takes place a few months after Sherlock Holmes and Dr John Watson return to London in 1894 and have to solve a murder with two victims and no murder weapons.
The stories continue down the years, including a meeting with Oscar Wilde, a special Christmas, cases involving vinegar valentines and a tale set in their retirement years in Sussex.
